Nile Cricket Club one of the traditional local cricket clubs in Uganda has been boosted by the renewal of their sponsorship package with Spedag.
The new sponsors have been supporters of Nile Cricket Club for a while and their commitment to the franchise comes out as a boost for the team currently struggling to get great results on the field.
Nile is fighting to stay in the top flight and it will probably go down to the wire between them and Charity who join Partidar in Div 2 next season.
Captain David Musoke feels the sponsorship will kick start their season in style.
We have sponsorship from Spedag Interfreight and MAAD Advertising. We have a long (over 10 years) partnership with Spedag Interfreight. MAAD just came in last year.
Recently, the 2 companies have mainly supported us with jerseys and a few other Club requirements.
Certainly, the sponsorship is crucial in the Club’s activities including playing in Division 1.
In these tough economic ties, Nile has managed to get itself a partner willing to be with them for the long haul.
This is largely down to the proper organisation and good management of the club over the years. They have kept clean books of accounts and this is key for all other clubs seeking sponsorship.
UCA Chairman Ansasira Badu and team Captain David Musoke were key in making sure Nile seals the deal.
Nile received their new uniforms for their game against Aziz Damani in Kyambogo and will be looking out for more positive results before they run out of games to save their season.
