With just a couple of days to the highly anticipated 93rd FUFA General Assembly, Mujib Kasule has  sought a temporary injunction on the activities of the FA including Presidential and Executive Committee Elections.

This is after former FUFA 3rd Vice President Mujib Kasule – who was blocked from standing for Presidency by the FUFA Electoral Commission – went to court to challenge the manner in which he was denied to stand for presidency.

Kasule, through his lawyers M/S Nsubuga K.S & Co. Advocates took the Registered Trustees of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) led by incumbent and the only aspirant in the race, Moses Magogo to court alleging he was ‘wrongly blocked’ from standing.

“An interim order doth issue restraining the Respondents and its organs, servants or agents from conducting the Elections for FUFA President and Executive Committee pending the disposal of the Main Application for a Temporary Injunction (Miscellaneous Application No.. 2017 until further orders of this court)…..,” reads part of the order received by FUFA on Wednesday August 2, 2017.

Besides Magogo, other defendants in the case include Sam Bakaki, Yusuf Awuye, Habib Aluma, James Okodi, Michael Igole, Julius Semanda, Geoffrey Kintu and Stanley Kinene.

The plaintiff and defendants are set to appear at the High Court, Kampala at 2pm on Thursday for the first application before the judge and then on Friday for the interim order.

Speaking to Kawowo Sports, Kasule, an ex-international and Proline FC director said he opted to take this step after he didn’t hear from FIFA over his petition.

I didn’t hear from FIFA until now. So this is the next step.

FUFA Media and Communications officer, Ahmed Hussein couldn’t be reached for a comment as he didn’t pick our calls.

The FUFA General Assembly is scheduled for Saturday August 5, 2017 at Kabalega Resort Hotel, Masindi.
