Deliverance Church Uganda have an opportunity to return to winning ways on Sunday when they entertain bottom side Rhinos in the National Hockey League.

The ladies in pink opened the season on an excellent note, securing two successive victories, but since that pair, the side is yet to taste victory.

Last weekend against Wananchi in their opening game of the second round, Deliverance went ahead courtesy of Judith Topachu, but they surrendered the lead eventually losing 3-1.

It was their third loss of the season having lost to the same opponents and Weatherhead in the first round.

Sunday presents them with a perfect opportunity to secure their third win. Deliverance beat Rhinos 4-3 in their opening match of the campaign a couple of months ago. Sanny Labol was twice on target in that encounter.

But they ought to be wary given Rhinos will come looking for revenge. The league debutants felt unfortunate losing that game when all signs pointed towards a stalemate.

Following Kampala Swans’ victory last weekend which by the way came against Rhinos, Susan Khainza’s side remain the only side yet to secure points in the league. They will come aiming for at least a point tomorrow.

The side sits bottom of the table with no point while Deliverance are third with six.
