Deliverance Church Uganda returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over league debutants Rhinos on Sunday.

The duo of Sharon Oroma and Vicky Akech were on target as their team secured their third victory of the campaign.

Oroma struck Deliverance’s first in the 11th minutes, but despite not conceding an equalizer, they were made to wait untill the second last minute of the game to find their second as Akech ended Rhinos’ hopes of a leveler.

Victory was Deliverance’s third this term. The side had suffered three successive defeats to defending champions Wananchi in the first and second round and Weatherhead Gazelles in the first round.

They headed into the game on the back of a loss and needed to bounce back which they did.

Deliverance was edging Rhinos for the second time this term having beaten them 4-3 in their opening game of the campaign.

The result took them level on points [9] with Gazelles who lost 3-2 to Wananchi, however, they remain seated third in the league standings because of an inferior goal difference.

Rhinos are rooted to the bottom of the table with no points.
