1st Beach Woodball World Cup: 9th – 14th 2017

The Uganda national woodball team of nine players and two officials will fly out to Indonesia on Tuesday afternoon to compete in the inaugural World Beach Woodball Championships.
According to Namayo Mawerere, the mouth piece of the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF), the team contingent flies out at 2.00pm on Tuesday aboard Qatar Airways.
The national team has been training in Entebbe under a residential camp for a period of one month to prepare for the 1st Beach World Cup Woodball Championships due August 9-14, 2017 in Indonesia.
They leave the country on Tuesday afternoon for Indonesia.
The Uganda Woodball Federation in June this year initially selected a provisional squad of 23 players for non residential training with their respective clubs.
The majority of the players named on the national team are smarting from the recent outstanding performances at the 5th Uganda Woodball International Open Championships hosted at Entebbe.
Uganda dominated the only international event sanctioned by IWbF in Africa.
Team composition:
The female team comprises of Africa’s Seed One Lilian Zawedde, Joyce Nalubega, Joan Mukoova, Sandra Nabaggala, Betty Alela and Charity Nagaba.
The three male players on the team are Onesmas Atamba, Bruno Bbosa and Israel Muwanguzi.
The officials to accompany the team are Manager Grace Orone and Coach George Isabirye.
