With reports that Khama Billiat has decided against renewing his contract at Mamelodi Sundowns, Pitso Mosimane is confident the team can cope.
The Zimbabwean is in his final year of his contract at the Brazilians but reliable sources reveal he is a subject of interest from clubs in France and Saudi Arabia.
Mosimane admits the club wants to keep the fleet footed attacker but says life will continue even if he decided to leave.
“Khama is on his last year and we’re trying to renew the contract,” he said as quoted by KickOff.
“If he is not going to renew we continue. The same when Rhulani [Mokwena] left, we continued. Sundowns is a very strong team,” added Mosimane.
The gaffer pointed at the fact that the Zimbabwean hasn’t played in the CAF Champions League but the team has gone this far.
We’re two games away from the Champions League final and Khama never played Champions League this year, never, so what’s the problem?
Although Mosimane hinted that the side is already planning life minus Billiat, he says he would love to see him stay.
If he renews we love him, he is a good player. But if he doesn’t want to renew what else can we do? It’s his life.
But we would love him to stay, we want him to stay and I think he will stay.
Sundowns is home to Uganda Cranes goalie and captain, Denis Masinde Onyango.
