Uganda Cranes and Proline Football Club defender Savio Kabugo has left for South Africa ahead of his trials with PSL side Bloemfontein Celtic.

Having secured the travel ticket and visa on Monday, Kabugo missed the national team training on Tuesday morning session at the Lugogo as he readied himself for the trip.

The big Proline defender has been part of the previous three matches in the CHAN qualifiers against South Sudan and the first leg against Rwanda.

In Kabugo’s absence the mantle could now lie upon utility player and team captain Bernard Muwanga who started as a deep lying midfielder in the first leg, Paul Musamali and Timothy Awany as the first hand replacements to forge a potential central defense partnership.

This will be the second time Kabugo leaves for trials in South Africa having first held trials with Bidvest Wits years ago.
