Police FC coaches Abdallah Mubiru and John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda are ready to have a ‘good’ selection headache when the season gets underway.

The two assumed roles at the 2005 league champions midway last season and helped the side survive relegation in what is arguably the Cops’ worst campaign in topflight football.

To avert that, they have brought in ten new players in addition to the three that have penned permanent deals after spending the half season on loan.

“The target is to be competitive next season,” Mubiru has consistently stated. “And the massive overhaul is a result of what transpired last season. We want a different scenario,” he added.

In almost each position, the club now has two players capable of doing the job.

“It’s a selection headache any coach in the world would be happy with,” said Ayala. “But it’s a long season and every member of the squad will be as important,” he added.

Nevertheless, the club remains in search for a backup right back to cover Paul Wila.

The club have in the past couple of days completed the signing of midfielder Gift Ali and goalkeeper Douglas Kisembo on loan from KCCA.
