Towering center half Tonny Waiswa had a colourful debut with Amalanda Amhlophe Football Club, a top flight side in the Swaziland Premier League.

Waiswa scored his club’s consolation in the 2-1 loss to Amazulu in a pre-season build up game.

“I feel proud to have scored in my first competitive match for my new club. It gives me the hope and confidence. I dedicate the goal to my teammates,” he said of his debut goal.

Waiswa a young brother to former Uganda Cranes captain Andrew Mwesigwa has previously played at SC Villa Junior side, SC Jogooo Young, Aurum Roses and Sports Club Victoria University in Uganda and is expected to be among head coach Mthunzie Ginindza’s key players ahead of the season that kicks off on 8th September 2017.

Amalanda finished 8th last season.
