Weatherhead coach-player Vincent Kasasa

Like predicted, Weatherhead [M] annihilated bottom side Rockets in the National Hockey League.

The duo of player-coach Vincent Kasasa and Ahmed Mutesasira each bagged a hat-trick as Weatherhead thumped the side that is yet to register a win 12-2.

Rockets took a rare lead early in the game in the third minute though Joseph Kamini, but that lead didn’t last for so long as striker Peter Elolu leveled three minutes later.

Solomon Natalya put Weatherhead ahead in the 20th minutes, and the side went on scoring spree netting five more goals before the half time whistle was blown, with Mutesasira notching his hat-trick, Ahmed Agaba and Kasasa, each finding their first goals of the day.

Kasasa opened the scoring in the second half, Agaba followed suit, scoring his second and the pair of Arnold Kasumba and Moses Tushabe joined the party before Kasasa completing his hat-trick seconds to the final whistle.

Rockets had Elvis Opoya score their second in between Kasumba and Tushabe’s goals.

The result took Weatherhead to the top of the table, but they stayed top for only hours. Kampala Hockey Club Stallions dislodged them with a convincing 5-0 win over Simba.

Rockets remain rooted to the bottom of the league with no points.
