Busoga College, Mwiri team
Current Mwiri team poses with the Old Boys

The Old Boys of Busoga College Mwiri gave back to the school by contributing a jersey for the school team ahead of the upcoming Cricket Week tournament.

Mwiri – a cricket power house – that has produced some of the best cricketers in the country, the likes of Kenneth Kamyuka, Junior Kwebiiha, Hamza Saleh, current National team player Davis Karashani and many others qualified as the top team from the Easter Region.

The team is currently under the tutelage of national team player Emmanuel Issanez and he is optimist they will win.

Fred Kisame, the school headteacher, was thrilled by the gesture of the old boys;

This helps our team to look smart while they compete but also look to impress even after cricket week.

This contribution relieves us of the serious financial burden and we are very grateful for the effort.

The Old Boys led by former Captains Rokani Slyvester and Denis Musali encouraged the kids to value their education as much as they value cricket.

The annual schools tournament starts on Sunday, August 27 in Kampala.

Denis has represented Uganda in international cricket events including the World Cup. He is currently the captain of Wanderers Cricket Club.
