After two rounds of the national sevens championship, Betway Kobs remain perfect and with two trophies in their hands.

They are undefeated in the first two circuits and have made light work of opponents enroute to the two cups.

However, there will be a change of guard when the team steps onto the pitch this weekend at Legends. Five of the seven starters will be missing and yet the job has to be done.

Team captain Joseph Aredo, James Ijongat, Ramathan Govule, Alhadji Manano and Adrian Kasiito have all been called up to the national sevens team preparing for the Africa Cup.

The five were all starters in the Kyadondo and Jinja circuits and were pivotal through the two events. Aredo and Kasiito scored against Toyota Buffaloes in Jinja while Govule put in tackles that kept Buffaloes attack at bay.

In the absence of the five, Kobs have to rely on the available resources to keep their title chase alive. Michael Amolo, Emmanuel Ecodu, Augustine Kasansula, Keith Seruyange and veteran Timothy Mudoola have the mantle in their hands and will be under scrutiny to maintain the pace.

Now on 44 points, Kobs top the log and are six points ahead of Buffaloes with four circuits left.

National sevens coach Tolbert Onyango gave his players only the first two circuits of the season to play for their clubs before returning to intense training with the national team.
