Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed two new faces on the Uganda Cranes technical bench on interim basis.
Express FC Coach Matia Lule and US based former Uganda Cranes captain Ibrahim Sekagya will bolster the two coaches Moses Basena and Fred Kajoba for the forthcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Namboole and away in Alexanderia.

“Basena made the request to have both Lule and Sekagya to reinforce the technical team so that Fred Kajoba concentrates on the goalkeeping area. FUFA honoured Basena’s request and we believe the new additions will be of great value to the Cranes. With 27 players and just two coaches in camp, Basena requested FUFA to allow him make additions on the technical expertise which request was duly granted. We need to give the coaches the utmost support during this period so that we register good results for the National team during this campaign,” FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein said.

Lule has previously handled the Uganda U-17 side as Ssekagya remains one of the most respected players to have donned the treasured Uganda Cranes’ jersey.
The Express head coach starts work immediately on Thursday morning whilst Ssekagya will arrive in the country on Sunday, 27th August 2017.
Uganda Cranes will host the first leg at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Thursday, 31st August 2017 before the return leg on 5th September 2017 at the Arab El Borg stadium in Alexanderia.
