Ethiopia Premier League side St George Football Club has made a bold statement to the potential suitors of gangly goalkeeper Robert Odongkara.
According to the club president Abenet Gebremariam, the 26-year-old lanky goalkeeper is not for sale.
He (Robert Odongkara) is not for sale at any price you can think of.
He is still under contract till July 2018 and we love him a lot.
Gebremariam’s comments come at a time there are growing offers for the player from South Africa, DR Congo, North Africa and the Mid-East.
Recently, Bloemfontein Celtics sent the player an invitation for a week but he was blocked by the club.
Other clubs reportedly interested in Odongkara’s services are Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town City, AS Vita (DR Congo), FUS Rabat (Morocco), Esperance (Tunisia) and a club from Saudi Arabia.
Odongkara has won the Ethiopia best goalkeeper of the season accolade on 5 different occasions.
Since leaving URA F.C in 2012, Odongkara has 4 league titles, 2 knockout cups, 1 City Cup and 5 best keeper awards.
