Buddo quashed all hopes of Avengers gaining promotion to Division 2 after defeating them by 93 runs at the Lugogo Oval on Saturday.
Avengers has been battling with Kampala Pirates for promotion from Division 3 but a loss to Buddo has all but ended their chances of promotion.
Buddo batted first and posted 172/10 with Chitan Kerai (54) and Brian Tayoleke (31) helping them to the total. In reply, Avengers could only manage 79 all out thereby ending their promotion chances.
Buddo captain Abu Mayanja was excited by the win;
Great win under pressure. The boys showed great application with the bat on a difficult wicket to help us post a close to a par score and then the bowlers finished it off backed up by good catching and tactical nous from the skipper.
In Jinja, Nyakasura inflicted a heavy defeat on home side JACC, winning by 236 runs. Nyakasura preparing for Schools Cricket Week scored 313/9 with Pascal Murungi (39) and Brian Asaba (91) causing the most damage. JACC only managed 77 all out in reply.
On Sunday, Charity was a no show in Entebbe as KICC won without even breaking a sweat. KICC was awarded maximum points as Charity was unavailable due to the on going Schools Cricket Week.
