Uganda Cranes utility player Hassan Wasswa Mawanda has completed initial talks with record Lebanese premier league winners Al-Ansar Sporting Club.

Mawanda, who is comfortable in all defensive positions and midfield department will not play for former side Njemeh Football Club after a mutual agreement.

“We finalized with the talks and I will just head back to sign after the Egypt first leg,” Mawanda who is preparing for the 2018 FIFA World Cup double legged qualifier confirmed to Kawowo Sports.

Al Ansar club Serbian born manager Zoran Pešić is a keen admirer of the dread-locked diligent player and sought for his treasured signature with keen interest.

Wasswa had joined Njemeh from Iraq club, Al Shorta.

This will be Wasswa’s 12th club having playing in a number of countries – Uganda, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Turkey, South Africa, Iraq and lately Lebanon.

Beirut based Al Ansar S.C is baptized as the ‘Greens’. The club is arguably the most successful team in Lebanon with 13 Lebanese premier league title and 14 FA cups.

They have won 5 Lebanese Super Cup, 2 Lebanese Elite and Super cups apiece.
