Kutchi Tigers defeated title favorites Damani by 136 runs at the Lake side oval in Entebbe to leave the league title wide open.
Kutchi have been on form since the start second round and haven’t lost a single game. If they only had a strong 1st round, they would be in with a chance of winning the title.
However, even for all their hard work they might actually only finish second but their form has helped other teams like KICC and Challengers stay in contention of winning the league.
Damani had only lost once before Sunday and if they had avoided defeat they would only be a win away from the title but now they will have to work hard considering they have some very tough fixtures ahead with fellow title challengers KICC, Challengers and Tornado B.
The night cricket pros have made Kutchi Tigers a completely different team and they have scored a lot of runs since the second round. In return their rivals who didn’t take them seriously in the beginning have all lost to them and when they defeated Tornado B all other teams were back in play.
Tornado B recovered from two defeats in a row to defeat already relegated Partdiar by 136 runs at Kyambogo. Abdallah Lubega (113) and Deus Muhumuza (96) helped the defending champions post a huge 317/6 for a team missing tailsman Roger Mukasa and Charles Waiswa who are in India with the NPCA XI.
Strikers will have to wait on results to know if they can still qualify for Division One, they conspired to lose to fellow promotion rivals Premier by 124 runs in Buddo. If they had won on Sunday, Strikers would have gained promotion to Division 1 but their lose means ACC and Premier are now favorites for promotion unless misfortune befalls them.
