Frank Akankwasa has led his Knights team very well as they sit comfortably on the top of the Gnext Challenge table.

The Knights who are the defending champions of the Junior Cricket Holiday Programme wobbled in the first game losing to the U15 Samurais but they have managed to craft two good hard wins against Titans and the Spartans.

In the final round of round-robin games next week, the Knights will need at least one win to be guaranteed of the playing the final while it’s all open for all the other teams with the Titans and Spartans all on one win.

The tournament is played on a T20 basis with 4 teams playing each other on a round robin basis. The top 2 teams contest the final.

The teams are made up of only players in the development stage to help give them quality game time and also to be able to compete with their peers.

The Junior Holiday Cricket Programme is organized by Gnext Cricket Academy in partnership with UCA and action continues next week at Kyambogo starting on Wednesday.

Denis has represented Uganda in international cricket events including the World Cup. He is currently the captain of Wanderers Cricket Club.
