
Ethiopia’s most successful football club St George has confirmed the appointment of Portuguese coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto on a two-year deal.
The 43-year-old coach replaced Dutch man Mart Nooij, who left the club after cardiac ailments.
Pinto, a UEFA and CAF ‘A’ licence holder joins the Horsemen from the Angola top side Recreativo De Libolo where he had worked since 2012
Confirmed reports indicate that Nooij has joined the Tunisia topflight league side Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise.
St George is home to Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Robert Odongkara.
The club has won 28 league titles, 14 of which after the league took its present shape in 1997/98 season.
They have 14 Ethiopian cups (FA cup) and 8 super cup titles.
