Onduparaka head coach Leo Adraa says his team was full of enthusiasm against Maroons in their first away game of the new season on Saturday hence the 2-0 victory.
Ceaser Okhuti notched a second half brace to hand the Caterpillars who had to wait until December last year to get their first away win that came in form of a 1-0 win over The Saints at Bombo Barracks their first victory of the 2016/17 season.
“Our record last season in away games was not good,” Adraa said. “But today, we were full of morale. We told ourselves since it’s a team that just came to the league, let’s try to win it and we did just that. We were fired up today,” he added.
For his match winning display, Okhuti earned praise from his coach. The striker took advantage of two defensive errors to secure the three points for his side, with Maroons defender Allan Anguyo gifting him for his second goal when the former failed to control a pass from his goalkeeper and Okhuti collected the ball to guide it inside an empty net
“As a senior player, he used his experience to get us this win. He replaced Shaban who was not around and he had a great game. He came in for it with his experience and motivated other players, and he showed he can still performance very well.”
Victory elevated Onduparaka who are yet to concede a goal this season to the second position with 4 points.
