Maroons and URA were involved in a dull goalless draw in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday at Luzira Prisons ground.
After both suffering their first defeats of the new campaign over the weekend, the two sides had hoped to recover from their losses, but none really showed the urge to come out victors.
While Maroons slightly bettered their opponents in terms of passing, there was barely a thing to write home about.
URA were searching for a second win of the season, but their display did little to mark them out as serious title challengers and it was an indifferent performance.
The tax collectors’ realistic chance in the game that was played for only 82 minutes came in form of a header early in the first half by striker Bokota Labama Kamana which went just over the bar.
Maroons, on the other hand were searching for their first win of the season, but hardly meaningful opportunities were created.
Maroons had to wait for substitute Patrick Gonahasa who came on for Pius Obuya and who spent less than ten minutes on pitch before referee William Oloya blew the final whistle to witness a realistic opportunity to score.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Akol and his opposite number Mathias Muwanga were quiescent as none was troubled.
With this result, URA drop a place down to eighth with 4 points while Maroons who travel to Wankulukuku on Saturday, September 30 for a date with Express rise five places up to 12th with 2 points.
URA host defending champions and current table leaders KCCA at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Friday, 29th September in their next league engagement.
