Vipers’ coach Miguel Da Costa paid tribute to his side’s fans describing them as the best in the country.

The Portuguese was delighted with the support from the stands as his side narrowly edged title rivals SC Villa to move joint top on the standings at nearly fully packed St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.

“I don’t what to say about them,” said Da Costa. “They are best supporters in the country and we thank them for pushing us all the way,” he added.

On the game against the 16-time record champions, the Portuguese credited his side for controlling the game well in the second half although he feels they would have played 9 men instead of eleven.

First half, first 10-20 minutes, we played well and from then, Villa took control of the game but later, we were better.

We should have played 9 but played against 11 in the second half. But we controlled the game. Congratulations to Villa, they played very well.

Next on menu for the two-time champions is a trip to Bugonga Fisheries ground where they face Masavu on Wednesday.
