Three time FUFA Women Elite League champions Kawempe Muslim has lost five players to different clubs in the primary transfer window.

Three of the team players have transferred to Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono. The players are goalkeeper Ruth Aturo, striker Hasfa Nassuna and Yudaya Nakayenze.

Lanky striker Favour Nambatya (Mutesa I Royal University) and Joan Nakirya (United States) complete the list of players who have already left the club.

Although UCU and Mutesa I Royal University bound players are yet to formally conclude the transfers, they are already at their respective institutions with the studies already underway.

Aturo is undertaking a Bachelor in Business Administration, Nassuna (Bachelor of Mass Communication), Nakayenze (Social Works and Social Administration) and Nambatya (Bachelor of Tourism and Hotel Management).

Nassuna has already expressed the urge and desire to serve UCU with diligence;

I happy to be at UCU. In life, there are changes and as sportswomen, we face such changes.

Personally, I am ready for the new challenges at hand.

Nakirya left for the United States of America two months ago for greener pastures as she also enrolled for studies.

Kawempe Muslim, UCU and Mutesa I Royal University all feature in the top flight women national football league.

The league is expected to kick off mid-October.

Since the league inception in 2015, Kawempe Muslim has been the only winner with three titles.
