Kenyan side Equity Bank found little trouble in seeing off their Tanzanian counterparts Don Bosco in either team’s opening game of the 2017 Zone V Club Championship.
Equity quickly jumped to a 12-3 lead before winding down the first quarter leading 18-9. The side started the second frame with an 8-2 run to push their lead to double figure and never looked back.
Hilda Hindasi Luvandwa’s experience came to the fore with the guard netting an efficient game high 20 points while assisting on five baskets.
Mercy Wanyama was big in the paint scoring 14 points and pulling down game high 16 rebounds. Mjomba Samba chipped in with 10 points.
Irene Luhanga top scored for Don Bosco with 12 points. Orlin Londo, Rehema Silomba and Martha Kapwani contributed 8 points each.
