- UCU Lady Canons 108-42 Horseed
UCU Lady Canons got off to a strong start at the ongoing Zone V Club Championship at Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Kampala.
The Ugandan side saw off Somalian side Horseed with ease running through the four periods for a 108-42 blowout win.
Vilma Achieng found no match in the key scoring game high 25 points and 13 rebounds backed by Sarah Ageno with 16 points.
Ritah Imanishimwe reached double figures despite getting into foul trouble in the opening quarter. The shooting guard scored 11 points.
Judith Nansobya had 10 points and Zainah Lokwameri chipped in with 17 points and 7 helpers.
Horseed were led by fans’ favourite Fiin Jamad Husseam. The flashy guard pulled off a series of crossover dribbles much to the delight of the fans in the arena. She scored team 11 points and 8 boards.
Yusuf Luul Abdulahi had 10 points.
The Lady Canons return to the floor tomorrow against KPA while Horseed will be out of action.
