The first two games of the 2017 Zone V Club Championship hosts City Oilers have been more like practice sessions.

The tournament defending champions followed their 93-46 opening day victory over Savio with a comprehensive 111-41 beat down of Hawassa City on Monday night.

The Oilers ran through the four periods 24-10, 25-8, 37-10 and 25-13 for the victory.

After playing no part in the opening day whitewash of Savio, Jordin Mayez returned to lead free shooting Oilers with 16 points backed by Landry Ndikumana who scored 14 points to go with 10 boards.

Jonah Otim (13), Robinson Odoch (13), Tony Drileba (12) and James Okello (12 points) had a fun night out.

Wagari Kefeni scorer of 12 points was the only Hawassa player to reach double figures.

Meanwhile, City Oilers will return to action on Tuesday night for the tournament marker against Rwandan out fit Patriots.

The sides expected to make the finals of the tournament because of the quality in the playing personnel meet for the time and Oilers will finally have an opponent to compete against.
