Fide Master Harold Wanyama has made an unexpected return to Dmark from champions Kireka
Wanyama, who cited need for a ‘fresh challenge’ when he was leaving Dmark in 2014 has cited the same reason for his latest exit.
“I really like challenges” Wanyama who joined Kireka in 2016, and helped the side win two back to back titles said. “I wanted to join a title chasing team so I left. Dmark was slowly going down so decided to join them. I helped usurp Dmark and now I want to do the reverse.”
The FM joined Kireka from Makindye in 2016 and helped the side halt Dmark’s dominance in the league on his debut season at the club. Dmark had won the league trophy four successive times and were chasing for their fifth in a row last year, but the four-time Olympian, and his Kireka side ensured nothing of a sort happened.
They went on to secure their second in a row when they lifted this year’s trophy.
With International Master Arthur Ssegwanyi and FM Haruna Nsubuga at the club, and with IM Elijah Emojong expected to join the side next year, Bob Were- Kireka patron- had hoped to have the crème de la crème at his club, but the Olympian had other thoughts.
He returns to the side he helped win two titles, and he joins fellow Olympian FM Patrick Kawuma and Walter Okas as the top guys at the club.
