• City Oilers vs. Patriots –  7:00pm
Jordin Mayes

Zone V defending champions City Oilers and Rwanda heavy weights Patriots played out a tournament marker in the group on Tuesday.

Oilers reigned supreme on the night but nothing came easy as in the 77-73 win.

Tonight, the two best sides in the competition will again take the floor of Lugogo Indoor Stadium for the winner-take-all game after successfully seeing off their opponents in the semifinals last night albeit with struggles.

City Oilers held off KPA’s late surge for a 73-65 victory thanks to Jordin Mayes skill set while Patriots beat the other Ugandan side Power with Kami Kabange and Walter Nkurunziza leading the way with 17 points each.

City Oilers had their top guns play through an off day against KPA with Robinson Odoch and Stephen Omony missing open shot after open shot, Jimmy Enabu coughing up the ball easily while Adarius Pegues was ejected.

Mandy Juruni will be hoping the four along side Stanley Ocitti show out tonight to complement Mayes and Landry Ndikumana in the do or die game.

For Patriots, Henry Mwinuka – the man in charge – will be hoping that Olivier Shyaka and Aristide Mugabe have a better game than they did against Power to back up Kami Kabange, Hamza Ruhezamihigo and Steven Hagumintwari.
