For the very first time in Uganda, a sports and fitness complex will be available for the community.

Situated in Munyonyo, a suburb of Kampala, the complex consists of an artificial turf football pitch (7-aside), Futsal and a universal one used for tennis and basketball.

The brain behind the facility which sits on approximately an acre is Honest Kavuma, a staunch Bayern München Fan and self-proclaimed president of Bayern Fans in the country.

Kavuma, an enthusiastic football fan revealed the secret behind setting up the facility that also will have a state of the art gym, a sports shop mainly dealing in Bayern merchandise.

“I may not have played football but I love and breathe the game,” said Kavuma who took the media through a tour of the facility under construction. “My objective of setting up such a project is to help the community have a facility where they can develop football skills,” he added.

This facility will be open to the community and we intend to partner with arguably the biggest club in World football – Bayern but in Uganda, we already set up a partnership with Proline Soccer Academy.

Mujib Kasule, the Proline Director described the facility which is expected to be complete and officially opened on 1st December as one that will breach a big gap.

“The main job for facilities is government but we sports lovers can’t wait for government,” he said. “This is a facility where people will be able to play football for 24 hours since it will be lit all time,” he added.

There are people out there who want to play football but they can’t during day due to work but they will have a chance with this.

Kasule who also hinted at Proline shifting base to training at the pitch says the complex will only reduce the gap for every football loving Uganda.

There will be a tennis court for those who love the game but also the 7-aside football pitch depending on the users since it can accommodate even 10-aside.

Kavuma said the complex at completion is estimated to cost over Shs 4 billion (approximately $1.2 million).

The cost is estimated to be Shs 4 billion when complete.

Although the complex is more of Bayern Fans in Uganda, it’s not an exclusive membership club. It is designed for general usage emphasizing development of sport.
