The promise has been finally fulfilled.
Parliament of Uganda on Thursday officially handed over the 26 seater bus to the Uganda netball team, the She Cranes following a pledge for the team’s heroics.
The promise had been made when the team lifted the African Netball title at the Lugogo Indoor stadium in Kampala on 29th June 2017.
Each of the legislators vowed to contribute Shs.500,000 towards the noble cause.
In total, Shs 222M was raised. The bus, registration number UBB 386H cost Shs112M from Minhas Uganda Motors, Kampala.
The balance (Shs110M) was shared among the players (15) and team officials (7).
The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga handed over the bus to the Federation of Ugandan Netball Association (FUNA) officials and the players.

“Parliament has fully serviced the vehicle and is ready to go on board. The Parliament is also committed to supporting the She Cranes,” Kadaga is quoted by Daily Monitor.
Netball president Suzan Anek appreciated the offer and called for sponsorship of the federation and netball activities.
The She Cranes are now ranked 4th in the world after winning this year’s tournament coming from 13th position.
They will face England in January 2018 during one of the build up matches before the much anticipated 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth games.
