Premier League football returns to the Green Light Stadium this Saturday as Onduparaka host Soana.
This fixture comes along with great memories for the hosts. The Caterpillars’ maiden game in the Uganda Premier League came against the same opponent at the same ground last season. That game ended goalless, but it set at ease the then new comers, and not a loss was suffered by Onduparaka last season at the Green Light.
It is still early days, but it appears like they are not about to lose their record . Two league games thus far have been played at the ground, and Leo Adraa’s boys collected four points from the two matches. They won one [against Police], after drawing with Proline in their opening game of the campaign.
That victory came right before the international break, and it was the ninth home league victory in the history of the club, and their second this season. On loan striker Alfred Leku, opened his club account in that game with the lone goal.
The Caterpillars do have a revenge mission tomorrow. The last time they met Soana, they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Kavumba Recreational ground in a game they erred in defense.
Tomorrow presents them with an opportunity to even the score, and which better place to avenge that loss than the intimidating Green Light.
Soana will be aware that a tough task awaits them in Arua. Last time out, the Kavumba side endured a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Proline at Lugogo before the international break. It was their second defeat of the season having fallen prey to SC Villa in their opening game.
Soana boasts of only one victory got against league debutants Masavu and one draw. They have conceded four goals, and scored two. The side seats second last with four points.
