URA returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bul on Tuesday at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The tax collectors had gone into the game winless in four games and had not scored a goal in that period, but goals from Charles Sempa, Henry Kisekka, Ajab Abdulrahman and substitute Ronald Kigongo put a stop to that unwanted run.
Having suffered their second defeat of the campaign last week, Ibrahim Kirya’s side turned in a performance expected of them. They did the damage within the first twelve minutes, with Sempa who met Fred Okot’s cross scoring just outside the box.
Although the side failed to find the second in the first half, a goal always looked likely and it was no surprise when it arrived just after recess. Sempa turned provider as he sent in a cross that Kisekka expertly headed home.
Bul worked hard to try and get back into the game, but URA’s defense was concrete on the day. Goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga didn’t have to deal with any tricky situations.
On the other end, Bul’s custodian Hannington Ssewalunyo was frequently called into action. He was at fault for the third as he gifted Ajab the ball while trying to engage his defender. The former JMC forward intercepted the pass, and he scored a few yards from the box.
Kigongo wrapped up a chilly evening with the fourth in the 90th minute and URA became the second team this season to net four times in a single game. It was the side’s second victory this term and the biggest thus far having beaten UPDF 2-1 in their opening game of the campaign.
For Bul who have now conceded seven goals in two games, the loss was their third and biggest this season.
The result lifts URA up to sixth while dropping Bul to the thirteenth position.
