Jassy Singh believes he has all it takes to yet again fight for victory in the weekend’s Gomes Pembe Zambia International Rally; the final round of 2017 Africa rally championship.
The former Africa Rally Champion fazed off his young brother Muna Singh to secure his maiden Zambia Rally victory last year and he will be targeting to defend his title.
“I would like to defend my title by winning this weekend. But I know everyone will be attacking and have all eyes on me as the defending winner.
“My car and team are in good shape for the battle. And we shall push and try and get that win again.
“It’s going to be a long hot rally. So we shall be cautious at the beginning as we plan the next step,” said Jassy.
The Zambian is however wary of the overloaded competition from the foreign crews.
“The competition is definitely going to be stiff with Manvir, Davite and Fitidis who are all experienced drivers that you can not undermine. And they are here for victory as well.
“Besides them, even the local drivers including my young brother will also be pushing to the limits to get the win. But I will also keep in the fight,” he said.
Jassy further gave a general insight of the weekend’s event.
“The organisers have really put in a lot of effort towards the event. The roads are in perfect condition with everything and friendly to everyone making the competition more tight.
“The only problem we may face is the weather. It’s ridiculously hot and this will have an impact on some drivers,”
Jassy will drive a Subaru Impreza co-driven by Said Khan.
