Uganda Cricket Association and NCS flagged off the 14 man team that will represent Uganda in the Cricket for Hope tournament in Kigali that starts on Sunday.

The team will be managed by Assistant Coach Michael Ndiko in the place of new manager Jackson Kavuma who can’t travel because his traditional wedding which is due this weekend.

The technical bench has Steve Tikolo as main coach and will be assisted by Jackson Ogwang. Habiba Kulusumu is Physiotherapist, with Carl Raubenheimer joining as a volunteer. Uganda Cricket board member Hanumat Katkar will lead the delegation from Uganda.

The 14 man team has Roger Mukasa as Captain and will be assisted by U19 captain Kenneth Waiswa.

Uganda is in Group B and will be tussling it out with 3 invitational sides from the UK which include the Yorkshire XI, Grannies and Surrey XI (Christopher Shale).

The main event which is a celebrity match will be on Saturday, 28th October as the Gahanga Cricket Stadium will be officially opened.

The team will depart for Kigali on Saturday morning by road and they play their 1st game against Yorkshire XI on Sunday afternoon.

Denis has represented Uganda in international cricket events including the World Cup. He is currently the captain of Wanderers Cricket Club.
