
Uganda B can go second in the Africa Online Chess League with victory over Zimbabwe A on Saturday.
The side captained by Paul Kafuko rose up to third last weekend with a comfortable 5-3 win over Nigeria B. They now have a chance to rise a place above with victory over the Southern Africans if Nigeria A falters against fellow countrymen Nigeria B.
With Zimbabwe A seated third last presenting opposition, it shouldn’t be a tough task for the Ugandans who beat a much tougher Nigerian side seeing off the Zimbabweans.
Uganda B are level on points [23] with second placed Nigeria A.
Table leaders Uganda A are up against Zambia B. The Zambians – bottom in the league – handed Uganda C a walkover last Saturday when they failed to make appearance. It remains to be seen whether they’ll be available tomorrow.
Uganda C seated tenth in the table standings takes on a stronger Zambian side in Zambia A hoping for a rare victory. Zambia A are fifth with 19 points.
Second last Namibia B meets Nigeria D while RSA Juniors take on Namibia A. Zimbabwe D will be out of action this Saturday therefore they receive a bye.
