Paul Kafuko and Uganda B have a chance to go second in the Africa Online Chess League

Uganda B can go second in the Africa Online Chess League with victory over Zimbabwe A on Saturday.

The side captained by Paul Kafuko rose up to third last weekend with a comfortable 5-3 win over Nigeria B. They now have a chance to rise a place above with victory over the Southern Africans if Nigeria A falters against fellow countrymen Nigeria B.

With Zimbabwe A seated third last presenting opposition, it shouldn’t be a tough task for the Ugandans who beat a much tougher Nigerian side seeing off the Zimbabweans.

Uganda B are level on points [23] with second placed Nigeria A.

Table leaders Uganda A are up against Zambia B. The Zambians – bottom in the league – handed Uganda C a walkover last Saturday when they failed to make appearance. It remains to be seen whether they’ll be available tomorrow.

Uganda C seated tenth in the table standings takes on a stronger Zambian side in Zambia A hoping for a rare victory. Zambia A are fifth with 19 points.

Second last Namibia B meets Nigeria D while RSA Juniors take on Namibia A. Zimbabwe D will be out of action this Saturday therefore they receive a bye.
