Vincent Kasasa and Weatherhead need nothing short of victory against Wananchi

Weatherhead [M] and Wananchi [M] do clash on Saturday in the National Hockey League, with the former looking for nothing but a win.

Vincent Kasasa and his charges can’t afford to lose tomorrow’s game if they are to keep their hopes of winning the title for the first time since 2011 alive. Not even a draw will do. The side needs maximum points to have any chance of triumphing this season.

Weatherhead go into the game seated third with 20 points, five adrift of Wananchi who are current league leaders.

With only six games left to the end of the season, Weatherhead need the win to cut the point gap. It’s a tough task for the side as Wananchi are themselves looking at winning their fifth title in a row.

The yellow boys will bank on their run against Wananchi this term. The defending champions haven’t beaten Weatherhead this season in normal time, with the first two meets in the league ending 2-0 in favor of Weatherhead and 4-4 draw, and a goalless draw in the finals of the Independence Cup.

Kasasa’s side is still waiting for the ruling on KHC’s use of an ineligible player against them last month. If the ruling goes in their favor which is what it should be, it would mean three points for them and that would also mean a high chance for the side to win the league.

The league committee that’s largely dominated by KHC are taking their time to pass the ruling though.  A win therefore is a must tomorrow as they can’t rely on the committee.
