Kampala Pirates took advantage of a weak Tornado B by defeating them in the T2o league on Saturday afternoon.

Tornado B is missing key players in Roger Mukasa and Charles Waiswa who were in Kenya playing for Stray Lions while Deus Muhumuza and Fred Achellam are on national duty with the Uganda Select side in Rwanda.

Joshua Mwanja (40) and Alpha Adowa (46) combined to help Pirates post a challenging 135/4 and the Tornado B chase ran out of steam 33 runs short of the target.

The win blows Group A wide open as Tornado B who were front runners for the quarter finals failed to follow up their first win against Wanderers and are in danger of missing the quarters.

SKLPS shocked another favorite in Strikers in Buddo in a game that was decided in a super over. Strikers were casual with the bat losing wickets regularly only managing to post 110.

Disciplined bowling by Fox Odoi and Innocent Mwebaze helped Strikers drag the game to the last over where SKLPS failed to find the 8 runs needed for the win.

In the super over though, SKLPS were the more composed scoring 14 runs with Strikers losing both their wickets without scoring.

Division 2 champions Premier were given a scare by SKLPS on the Sunday morning but they managed to hold on and win by 9 runs.

KICC barely broke sweat in Entebbe when they easily beat Nile by 6 wickets. Frank Nsubuga had a man of match all round performance to help KICC make a winning start.

Kutchi Tigers got the better of ACC by 49 runs in Entebbe.

Partidar picked up their first win of the season defeating JACC by 15 runs in Jinja. They however, found the other home team Jinja SS too strong losing by 17 runs.

Action continues this weekend with defending champions Challengers taking on Kampala Pirates on Saturday.
