
Uganda Select XI won its second game at the Cricket Build Hope tournament defeating the Christopher Shale XI by 9 wickets.
The win followed the 253 runs victory over Yorkshire team last evening.
The select XI led by Roger Mukasa were ruthless in play scoring a mammoth 273/6 against Yorkshire Tea with Simon Ssesazi (101) scoring a ton and he was supported by Arnold Otwani (72).
On his debut for Uganda, Bilal Hassan picked up 3 wickets and the leggies of Brian Masaba picked up 4 wickets.
Yorkshire Tea XI could only manage 23 all out giving Uganda a huge 253 run win.
In their second game today, Christopher Shale XI batted first scoring 74 all out with Bilal Hassan (4/10) and Brian Masaba (4/14) being the destroyers in chief, Deus Muhumuza (2/1) picked the other 2 scalps.
In the Chase Roger Mukasa (56) led from the front helping Uganda to a 9 wicket win inside 6 overs.
Uganda comfortably sits on top of Group B and should make the semifinals where they will probably meet some resistance.
Today is a rest day for all teams and action starts again on Wednesday.
The Cricket Builds Hope tournament is a curtain raiser for the main event on Saturday, 28th October for the official opening of the Gahanga Cricket Stadium.
A celebrity cricket game will be played between the Brian Lara XI and the Michael Vaughan XI.
