Uganda Select Side made very light work of the Grannies XI as they defeated them in a rain-laden game.
The Uganda Select Side had set a mammoth 218 in their 20 overs with Captain Roger Mukasa (59) leading from the front.
He had support from Simon Ssesazi (79) and Deus Muhumuza (27 not out).
The heavens then opened just after 7 overs but in a t20 encounter only 6 overs were required to get the result, Uganda Select winning by D/L method.
The win means the Uganda qualifies for the semis and they will take on hosts Rwanda tomorrow.
The tournament is a curtain raiser for the main event on Saturday when the Gahanga Cricket Stadium will be officially opened with a celebrity cricket game between a Brian Lara XI and Michael Vaughan XI.
The tournament finals will be played on Sunday at the main Gahanga Cricket Stadium.
