SC Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa was full of praise for his players after what he described as a ‘massive win’ over rivals KCCA.
The Jogoos needed a late strike from former KCCA attacker Martin Kizza to earn maximum points after Timothy Awany had cancelled out Allan Kyambadde early strike.
“First of all, I congratulate the players for the massive win,” he said. “From the first whistle, they showed determination and zeal to win and duly deserve to take the day,” he added.
The Blues were on course for a 1-0 win when Timothy Awany headed home after a howler from goalie Samson Kirya but regained the lead five minutes later and that propelled Bbosa to hail character.
“When you lead for most of the game but concede with minutes to the clock, you tend to lose it. But credit to the boys, they kept fighting and got the winner.”
It was SC Villa’s first win over KCCA in five years and takes them to within two points of log leaders Onduparaka.
