KCCA coach Mike Mutebi admitted his side were second best in the defeat to SC Villa before pointing at the midfield as where everything was lost.
The reigning champions’ unbeaten run came to an end after Martin Kizza scored with five minutes left on the clock to turn Timothy Awany’s equaliser into a consolation, having cancelled out a brilliant strike from Allan Kyambadde.
“I think SC Villa deserved to win on the day,” admitted Mutebi. “They were more aggressive and determined and to be sincere, were more in control,” he added.
“We lost it in the middle as we failed to be dominant and the hosts did well in the department.”
Mutebi made an early change replacing Allan Kateregga with Ibrahim Saddam Juma after the half hour mark but the gaffer still feels even Juma didn’t do enough.
“Kateregga wasn’t doing what we asked of him but even when Saddam came on, not much changed as SC Villa still dominated.”
The coach went for the young Mustapha Kizza as the left fullback ahead of the more experienced Muleme though he later made a change but when asked whether he felt he was wrong to start with the young boy, Mutebi said.
“He has been playing well and was our man of the match for the last two games. Form wise, he was better than Muleme.”
KCCA have won just two games in seven this season and sit a huge four points behind log leaders Onduparaka.
They are on 10 points after drawing four, losing once and only winning twice.
