Former Uganda Cranes creative midfielder Steven Bogere replaced Moses Basena as head coach at Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) Football Club.

This was confirmed by the club in an official statement released on Tuesday. Part of the statement reads;

The Executive Committee of UPDF FC received the letter of resignation from former head coach Moses Basena, in which he expressed his desire to have full commitment to the national team (Uganda Cranes). We accepted his request in the true spirit of the national team

The current tenure for Basena at the helm of the national team ends on 11th November 2017 with the away tie against Congo Brazzaville in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Bogere kicked off business immediately and was on team bench in the 1-0 loss to Police at Bombo.

Bogere has previously handled SC Villa Jogoo, Buddu Ssaza team and lately FUFA Big League side Plascon.
