Charity Cricket Club make the unpredictable trip to Jinja

Nile Cricket Club left Jinja empty-handed last weekend suffering defeats to both Jinja based sides JACC and Jinja SS.

All teams making the journey are now weary of the home sides. Jinja SS the school cricket champions, are the biggest threat but JACC can be beaten.

Charity Cricket Club makes the unpredictable journey cautious of what lies ahead, they lost to ACC in the morning but managed to defeat Partidar last week.

The team was missing left hand pitch hitter Simon Ssesazi, bowling all-rounder Innocent Ndaula and all-rounder Stephen Wambose who were all on national duty in Kigali. The Singh brothers Varinder and Narinder could also return for Charity which will be a very good boost for the visitors.

The ever-green Henry Muyanja was instrumental in their win against Partidar picking up wickets and scoring some handy runs with the bat.

Big Left hander and team Mentor Innocent Ndawula was pensive in his preview of the game.

The name charity has been deceptive for many because they think we shall be in charitable mood, many people thought we would be relegation candidates but we managed to beat up on the big teams in the second round like Tornado B.

We are aware of the Jinja SS’ threat who must be hurting from being relegated from Div 2 and will be looking to cause pain for some big teams. We missed some key players in the loss to ACC because of  family obligations and national duty. But I know we have enough quality in our side to win on the day but we are weary of the threat posed by Jinja SS.

In Jinja the team will need to step up to avoid befalling the same fate as Nile. Jonathan Ssebanja hasn’t come to the party yet for Charity and they will need his experience to fend off the school kids.

Jinja SS coached by Habib Mugalula have made their home ground a fortress and if you are to win, then you must earn your win. Captain Calvin Watuwa is their go to player and he has delivered some knockout blows with both ball and bat.
