Cyrus Kibuuka-Musoke batting for Tornado B against Challengers in the League

Tornado B won one and lost one over weekend in the T20 league but they can afford the loss and still make the knock out stages.

Four teams can make it through to the knock out stage from each group and in Group A, Damani and Challengers are favorites.

A loss to Challengers who are also tipped to go through to the knock out stages is bearable given that they can beat up on the other relatively weaker teams.

They quickly recovered from Saturday’s 9 wicket loss to Challengers to defeat Premier by 6 wickets on Sunday afternoon.

Tornado B was without 6 first team players for the Saturday afternoon encounter against old enemy Challengers and Vice Captain Nicholas Kebba retaliated the same.

“Unfortunately we were let down by the fact that about 4 players were absent and that greatly affected the teams morale and performance.

“Cyrus Kibuuka-Musoke (doing his masters exams), John Mpande, Charles Waiswa and Deus Muhumuza (work engagements), Achelam Fred (function), Jackson Ogwang (had traveled).”

Roger Mukasa (46) couldn’t inspire the team alone on Saturday with the team only managing 87 which Challengers chased with the loss of only one wicket.

However, on Sunday the 4 time league champions had Deus Muhumuza, Fred Achelam, Cyrus Kibuuka-Musoke returning and they helped them complete a 6 wicket win against Division 2 champions Premier.

Tornado B even with the loss to Pirates and Challengers can still make the knock out stages but they have a small matter of Damani and Strikers as roadblocks.
