Bright Stars climbed up to fourth in the Uganda Premier League with a 1-0 win over Bul on Tuesday at the Champions Stadium, Mwererwe.
The Stars found the winning goal in the first half through Farouk Banga’s header, and victory lifted them up to fourth dislodging champions KCCA, who were out of action on Tuesday.
Star striker Nelson Senkatuka, who tops the scoring chart in the league, was not on target, but Fred Kajoba’s men were able to bag all the three points, making it three wins for the side in the league.
All Bright Stars’ wins have come in front of their home fans, and this victory was their second in a row at home having beaten URA late last month.
The loss extends Bul’s wait for a league win away from home. The Jinja side has now lost three of their four games away from home this season.
Bul remain placed just above the red line with 9 points collected from as many games. The side faces SC Villa at Kakindu Stadium in their next game after the international break.
