Heavy down pour in the last four days has forced the cancellation of the seventh round of the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC).
The Fly540/Kajiado Rally was scheduled for this weekend in Kajiado but impassable roadshave forced organisers to call off the rally.
“The Konza area has been inundated with heavy rains, which led to the roads of the two farms where the event was going to take place impassible.
“The Clerk of Course with the event stewards has declared force majeures and cancelled the event on account of safety and impassable roads,” reads part of the letter from the organisers.
The organisers however still have hopes of rescheduling the event to the new dates.
Kajiado Rally is the second event to be cancelled this year. Earlier in July, the Nanyuki Rally was called off.
Ian Duncan currently leads the KNRC standings after five rounds. He stands top with 87 points; two points more than Carl Tundo while Baldev Charger is in third.
