Express Football Club will not take the chance to participate in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup, Kawowo Sports has learnt.

The Red Eagles had landed the opportunity following the withdraw of last season’s Uganda Cup runners up Paidha Black Angels who cited financial constraints for their inability to represent the country at continental level.

Express, which had got the chance has also fronted the same reasons (limited finances) for the withdrawal.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has extended the chance to Sports Club Villa Jogoo.

The Jogoo president Ben Immanuel Misagga is yet to come up with the final decision.

”The Federation officials require an answer within three days. We are yet to meet as the executive for the decision,” Misagga said.

KCCA, who won a double last season will play in the CAF Champions League.

Last season, KCCA and Vipers represented Uganda in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.

When KCCA bowed out of the Champions League, they dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup where they ejected Egypt’s Al Masry to make it to the group stage of the competition, the very first time for any Ugandan club.
