FIFA Referee Brian Miiro Nsubuga is among the 44 referees appointed by CAF to officiate at the 2018 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament in Morocco.

Nsubuga is the only Ugandan who has been appointed for the biennial championship that only features players who ply their trade in the domestic leagues.

The 39-year-old lecturer at Makerere University marks his maiden appearance at the second biggest African tournament.

He will have underway physical and medical examinations in Cairo prior to the tournament before he is fully confirmed.

Uganda is among the 16 successful finalists that kicks off in January 2018.
