The fight preparations for Uganda’s prized lady kickboxer Patricia ‘Black Pearl’ Apolot against Serbia’s Ivana Bogdanovic are in high gear.

Apolot, winner of all the 16 professional fights (with 7 knock outs) in her career, faces an experienced opponent on 9th December 2017 in the Eastern Uganda town of Soroti.

She expressed her readiness and urge to face the Serbian during a special press conference held at Nanjing Hotel in Kampala on Tuesday.

I am training well, ready to play and win at home. It is a big honour that Uganda is hosting yet another international fight.

At the launch of the fight, Apolot’s promoter Caroline Apolot assured the media of thorough preparations for the fight.

All has been set to host an international fight in Soroti. Patricia is training well and we expect the opponent in the country three days to the fight.

Uganda Kickboxing Federation President Hassan Ssekilime expressed the gratitude for Uganda to host such a high profile fight.

Bogdanovic hails from Kbs Kikinda kick boxing Club in Serbia. She has competed in over 40 international fights. 10 of these are Savate style, 20 in Sanda and another 10 in kick boxing.

Meanwhile, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility cause, Apolot will offer mattresses and other beddings to a charity group in Soroti.

Under-card fights:

A number of under-card fights have been short-listed prior to the main fight.

Kampala based players: Muhammed Lukwago, Musisi Ssentamu, Sula Katumba, Joshina Lumunya, Paul Lukosite, Ivan Koreta and Muzeei Muhammed are confirmed to face Soroti opponents in different categories.
