It takes team work, dedicated service, special skills, courage, determination and sheer luck to win a major championship.
Special Forces Command (SFC) team combined all the aforementioned factors as they won the 2017 Entebbe Corporate football Gala held at the green lush of Lake Victoria Primary School play ground, Entebbe.
This followed their 2-0 post match penalty victory over Way To Africa Safaris after normal time had ended goal-less.
This was the first time that SFC was taking part in the second edition of this championship meant to bring together the corporate community around Entebbe Municipality and the surrounding areas.

SFC head coach head coach Afande Amirigo attributed the sweet victory to good preparations and awesome discipline among the soldiers.
When we got the invitation, we prepared well for this event. It is not by surprise therefore that we performed well and won the overall trophy.
Besides, the players were disciplined to the brim and followed the instructions from the coaches and other technical members.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) finished as second runners up after they edged DAS Handling Services 2-1 in the third place play off match.

Last year’s winners, Protea Hotel bowed out at the semi final stage.
A total of 14 teams participated in the day long championship that started with the group stages played on a round robin format.

CAA (A), CAA (B), DAS, Protea, UPDAF, UWEC, Kimeeza Group, Nkumba University, Aviation Police, Quantum (Amazon Bar), Bullicon, SFC, Way 2 Africa and Department of Surveys and Mapping were the teams that took part.
Two former players and football enthusiasts Cyrus Kal and Ronald Onzima organized this corporate gala.

The Entebbe Corporate football is an annual event with the intentions of providing a plat form to help corporates keep fit, socialize (brainstorm and share ideas) and break the hectic work schedule to relax.
